Day 8 – Can a Foetus Melt?

Day 8 – Can a Foetus Melt?

In case you were wondering, it’s still bloody hot.

Luckily the power cut was temporary and we have partial air-con and fans.  It’s fine so long as you don’t move much.  Although my laptop is starting to feel like a hot plate.

We had a visit from a Nefesh representative who was very supportive, especially about our house-buying/renting situation, and the estate agents we are using.

There are some great websites where you can find out about properties, but it’s a bit slow if you don’t have great Hebrew, although we are slowly getting to grips with it.

A warning about estate agents:  Don’t use them.

That’s about all I have to say on that.

The only reason we considered it (as in London we sold our house without one, which saves lots of money) was because we are new in the country, new to the process and we have a baby arriving any minute so we don’t exactly have a lot of time.  I have now reached the “nesting” phase where I really want to be settled before baby 2 turns up.  Nor do we have a car to drive around and view properties, and pregnancy isn’t really conducive to walking around the hills all day in the heat.  So we bit the bullet and took on an agent.  We will let you know how that one goes.

Jojo is still attracting attention wherever he goes.  I have been told by several people that we should send him in to the modelling agencies.  After my experience with that in London I am not so keen, however if he can help us pay for a decent car perhaps we should exploit him.  There are worst things a mother can do….
