A black cloud hangs over Purim. Am reeling in horror.

A black cloud hangs over Purim. Am reeling in horror.

I am sure by now everyone knows about the horrific terrorist attack which happened last friday night. To my recollection it is often the case that news travels faster outside of Israel than it does within.

Here’s the gist:

A family of 8 living in Itamar, went to sleep on Friday night. Only 5 of them never woke up again. Terrorists broke into their home killing an 11 year old and 2 year old boy, the parents and a tiny 3 month old baby sleeping peacefully next to them. The paremedics reported shocking scenes of toys surrounded by pools of blood, since the victims were stabbed to death… I won’t go on. If like me, you need to pause having read this, whilst you run and throw up, feel free. There are no words so I wont attempt to write any.

Having read the BBC’s “perspective” on this incident, Israel approves new Jewish settler homes in West Bank, you may like me, choose to write a complaint. I have no idea how they ever got away with this article.

Below is what I have written, I am sure there are nore eloquent ways of saying this but I think I have got my point across:

“Reading this article has made me feel quite nauseous. Not just because the act of terror was so horrific, so sickening, that just thinking about it makes it hard for me to breathe. But also because your focus somehow manages to make Israel look like a bully. If an act of terrorism such as this one happened in England, the focus would rightly be “parents and 3 of their children including a tiny baby BRUTALLY MURDERED in their sleep”, whereupon the entire nation would take a deep breath and feel relieved it didnt happen to them, then go out and buy another padlock for their front door. But somehow, you managed to smother the brutality of this story in politics. These people were defenceless. The issue of whether these people are “settlers” is totally irrelevant. And so what if they are??? Many gypsies live on disputed land these days, doesn’t give anyone the right to slaughter them.”

Here’s something which I hope to see a lot more of:
