Jojo’s first Israeli Girlfriend

Jojo’s first Israeli Girlfriend

Her name is Shaked.  Black hair, cute smile, bright pink coat.  She’s 2 and a half.   But then he has always had a way with older women.

They met in the park some weeks ago.  Her daddy befriended the Husband.  They bonded over their mutual love of beer and his choice to start work at the crack of dawn so that he can be home mid-afternoon to be with his daughter.  Really an inspired plan when you think how much one can save on childcare.  Israelis seem to be able to manage on absolute sleep deprivation, most likely something they learn in the army.

So off Jojo went on a dinner date with his new bird.  It was very casual, a trip to the local pizzeria in Rabin.  Rather typically, she picked at her food, he stuffed his face.  Then stole the olives off everyone elses pizza. They flirted for a while whilst the chaperones talked in the background, she disappeared upstairs for a nappy change and then there was a leisurely walk home.  The date ended with a kiss and a cuddle.  Very standard.  Only she had her dummy in so I am not sure how romantic that was.

Jojo, it seems, is something of a stallion when it comes to women, and unlike many English boys is totally not scared of the Israeli variety.  Besides Shaked, he has several others on the go.  Little Liri, from my Music babies group has taken a shine to him.  Then there is Rani, who is not yet 1, although I think that is more about friendship as they seem to play more than flirt.  Later today he was given a full-on snog by the Leah-leh the Rabbi’s daughter (she is about 4 years his senior).  Her mother claims she has no idea where she learned to kiss like that.  She is a lovely little girl, very coy and great with baby Yaron.  Although I am not sure Jojo  is currently religious enough for her.  Still, I find it rather wonderful that he is able to pull both chilonim and chareidim [non-religious and very religious] and we are very relaxed about who he brings home – so long (of course) as they are capable of cooking him wholesome meals in the future.
